Severn-Dipity Cottage & Terata House

Cottages

Located near the Severn River at Somme on the Queensland’s Granite Belt, Severndipity Cabin and Terata House are both excellent accommodation options for couples.

As outlined on their website, this is a place to relax and indulge in the “Severn Sins”…freedom, relaxation, tranquility, discovery, peace, rejuvenation and serenity.

Whether you want to retreat and relax or explore the local area, I highly recommend both the two-bedroom cabin and the three-bedroom house for your next visit.

We’ve stayed in both and, to be honest, as much as I love the cabin, the house is my preferred option.  The extra space is ideal for two couples, for working while travelling, and the large kitchen is a significant benefit for those who enjoy cooking with local produce.

While the cabin is surrounded by bushland and right on the Severn River, the house sits on open farmland with expansive views of the surrounding landscape.

Both options include:

  • Woodfire for ambiance and essential cold Granite Belt nights and mornings
  • Two bathrooms and two toilets for added convenience
  • Outdoor space perfect for enjoying a local wine and cheese platter
  • Seclusion, privacy and peace and quiet, perfect for relaxing and a great night’s sleep
  • Well equipped kitchen ideal for preparing meals
  • Good quality bedding and towels
  • Location and proximity to wineries and dining options

Tips

  • Chat with the host, she is lovely. She had the heaters warming the house for our arrival and even delivered some tasty homemade muffins on our first morning.  Jack Frost and all!
  • Book in for a wine experience at nearby Bent Road Wines
  • Have lunch or dinner in Ballandean
