Balancing Heart Vineyard
The Balancing Heart Vineyard cellar door is one of the newer kids on the block, opening it’s doors in 2017.
The vineyard itself though, has been there for some 20 plus years and specialise in cool climate wines, from an area with a unique terroir.
Estate grown wines on offer when we visited were; Shiraz, Pinot Gris, Verdehlo, Viogner, Sparkling, Sagrantino and their Camp Fire Red and Camp Fire White blends.
The vineyard is located about 10 minutes south of Ballandean and takes it’s name from the natural granite rock formation found on the property. The cellar door itself is quite small however the magic is in the extensive seating area on the deck and surrounding grounds overlooking the dam.
There are plenty of picnic tables and even some bean bags to sit back and soak in the views while enjoying a tasting. And, it’s dog friendly so your pooch can come too!
Lunch is served 7 days a week, and Sunset Dinners on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We really enjoyed the Essense and Bloom Verdelho, such a lunchtime wine, and it paired well with our Ploughmans Platter and Woodfired Margherita Pizza.
TIPS
